King 6550's Sponsorship Page
![]() King is very sweet and smart. He does not act like he was neglected, even though his physical state indicates otherwise. He follows me everywhere, knows his name, sits, gives his paw, goes "in" (his crate with a treat), and loves going for a ride in the truck, with or without the crate. King gets in the way when I am trying to prepare food although he responds to "no" and will back up a little. His house manners are rusty, but he does try to please. King pulls a bit on a leash, but he will "wait" at the door with a hand prompt for me to go in first. He likes to play fetch, and after he drops the ball, he will roll it to you with his nose. King is very affectionate with both women and men and did very well with a 10-year-old child, but he has displayed food guarding with another dog. To be fair, this behavior may be from being in a shelter for months at a time. I learned that while King was at the vet for his neutering, the resident cats must have been teasing him, because he started barking at them every time they came around. He may be developing a dislike for cats. If you are an Approved Adopter and would like more information about King, please email his foster at gail.braswell@aol.com. He is fostered in Virginia Beach, VA. To submit an application, copy this link:
