![]() Griffin is a sweet senior looking for his furever home! He’s house and crate trained, great in the car, friendly to everyone he meets, does not jump, doesn’t care about the vacuum, and loves a good pet or belly rub. He enjoys all sorts of treats but does have a poultry allergy. He’s currently on a salmon diet with kibble from Costco. He’s enjoyed beef treats, carrot flavored dental sticks, raw zucchini, blueberries, strawberries, yogurt, cheese, and ice cubes so far- a gentlemen with a truly refined pallet. He takes treats softly. Ole’ Griffin barks when he gets excited but he’s easy to calm when he does. He listens well and knows his name. He also knows sit, shake/paw, down, and leave it. He is fantastic on a leash & martingale collar. He picked up on our dog door very quickly. We’ve also taken him to a local brewery, and he did well. He did bark at another dog when they arrived, but with the right treats he’d be easy to distract. I would be cautious with him around cats. Our cats keep to themselves behind a gate so they have not had direct contact. He has lots of spunk despite his senior status. He’s got a bill of health from the vet and is spry enough to get on the couch and in the car. He'd do well on his own, with a dog that wants to play, or a low-key, passive dog. After a settling in period, he gets along well with our two female shepherds. We gave him a bath at a local pet shop, and he did very well in their proper tub! I think he’d do fine in any bathtub. He was very tolerant of the bath itself and being blow dried. Griffin is happy to be near you; whether it’s lying in the room you’re in or going on walks, he'll always have your back! VGSR approved adopters can reach out to Danielle for more information about Griffin at danielle.kirrane@gmail.com. He's located in Richmond, VA.
