Hi, my name is Josie and I am very sweet, young and energetic beautiful black German Shepherd with small white spot on my chest. I've just come to live with my new foster family so they are still getting to know me but they really like and are amazed that I can type so well! I am very attentive to my new family and they think i will grow into a great dog who is smart and very trainable. Some things you should know about me: #1 - I look somewhat grown up, but I'm not much more than a puppy so i still have some growing up to do and I'll need lots of guidance and structure. My family has a crate and for now I sleep there at night but during the day I roam the house. I'm a curious and inquisitive pup so you'll have to keep food and hazards away. I'll need some company or I might get bored and if you put me outside by myself I'll probably just think about how to get back in and by your side. I'm still a little timid and loud noises may frighten me. My foster family has a quiet 7 yo son who is used to dogs and he and I get along well, but when his loud friends come over to the house, i get a little scared and bark and dont really know what to do. Right now it seems I should go to a home with older kids or kids who will give me time to settle in and learn my role in a new home. Also i was allowed to jump up and greet people at my old house but now I'm not allowed to. I get really excited and forget sometimes but i've gotten much better.  I love to go for lots of long walks and I can walk on the leash very well.  My foster dad works from home a lot and he thinks i'm a great companion to have around while he works. I get along with all of the other dogs I've met so far but meeting strangers still makes me a little nervous so we're taking it slowly. If you think you would like to meet me, i'm living in lower Montgomery county just inside the beltway and you can contact my foster dad at  ejs480@yahoo.com

(note from foster Dad - Josie is a good pup with a lot of potential but will do best with someone willing to spend some time with her which would include training, creating structure, and setting boundaries. She's about 95% housebroken and we're working on that (no accidents for three days now!). She has an insatiable curiosity, focuses very well and will make a great companion as she already is sticking to me like glue. She has a mild prey drive and would chase squirrels rabbits and the occasional cat.   I've just posted new pictures. (Also note she was spayed 06/10/15 and is recovering nicely.) Any questions feel free to email.
