Sunshine is a medium sized German Shepherd/Lab mix that is sure he is a 5 lb. Chihuahua. He loves to snuggle and be with his humans as much as possible. He loves small children and is extremely tolerant towards their activeness. In his foster home, there is an infant and he is protective of the infant as he loves to check on him and will go over to the infant and put his head in the infant’s lap when he starts to fuss or cry. He is still a puppy and that must be remembered because he does have a high play drive, and does not like being left alone unless in his crate. He can get destructive if left alone for too long in open spaces. This tells us that he does have a level of anxiety and is timid in nature. When inside he is calm and relaxed, but when outside he is highly playful. He is a complete sweetheart that is just looking for someone to love up on him and dote on him. He loves people and grows extremely attached once he feels safe in his environment.

Also, we have been working on his basic obedience training and he knows the commands, but just like any teenager, likes to ignore them at times =). With that said, when outside he typically stays close by when we are outside, but it would be highly recommended that he be fenced in. He does like to vocalize his emotions and will need someone that is ready to take that one.

Sunshine is a playful, beautiful, sweet puppy. He is affectionate and very, VERY tolerant to those around him. He is timid so he will require some time to grow accustomed to his new surroundings, but once given that time he will become everything he is meant to be. Our boy is leash trained, but does not enjoy going for very long walks or to chaotic areas. He does get motion sickness on occasion, but a small dose of Dramamine about a half an hour before leaving, he is usually perfectly content and will lay down for the majority of the ride. Gentle and intelligent our boy needs a loving family that is ready to give him the love he truly needs.
