German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young
9/5/2014 Cheyenne came to us as a stray, found eating out of trash bins. She is a great dog who has been through a lot in her short time with us. She has been battling mange, which is still active. Cheyenne also has a bad skin infection in all four paws. Due to the prescriptions and medical issues, she is considered special needs. Cheyenne is getting two medicated baths every week, has medicated wipes for her feet and takes oral medications. Her condition is not life threatening, but does require time to conquer. Throughout it all she has been in good, lovable spirits. She is suspicious with new people and is protective/defensive of the ones she loves. We are working on her socialization and she has been improving greatly. As far as we know, she has never lived with children. We are unaware as to how she would be in a personal setting, but Cheyenne is ok with kids on walks and at public events. We have 3 other large dogs and 2 cats and she gets along great with everyone! We have a good size fenced in back yard and she loves to be outside and run and play with our other dogs but she can also be a big lazy couch potato. Her favorite toys are tennis balls and nylon hard toys that she can chew on. She also has a tendency to fall asleep with toys in her mouth haha! She is eager to please and loves to be in your lap. She is very much all puppy and is still a little mouthy (something else we are working on). Overall she is a big, lovable, affectionate goof ball and would do great in a home with other dogs and a fenced in yard for her to run in.
