4-6-2014    Twinkie is a beautiful, very sweet, older female who is looking for a retirement home.  Twinkie had a tough life.  She was used for breeding and spent most of her life in a kennel that was too small for a dog her size, without much human companionship.  In addition to that, her health was neglected for a long time.  She lives in our home with a male German Shepherd and a small dog (15 lbs.) where she has had free range without incident.  Twinkie is pretty quiet and although she can bark, she doesn't bark without a reason.  She is very low energy and can usually be found snoozing at my feet, but will pop up and follow the other dogs if they are interested in something.  Twinkie will be attending Virginia German Shepherd Rescue adoption events in Front Royal, Winchester, Percellville, and Gainsville.  Her foster can be contacted via email at Steveshepherdrescue@gmail.com .
