Shadow is a handsome, 3 year old owner surrender who lived his life in a backyard and a basement. He was isolated from people and dogs, so he needs training and guidance so he learns appropriate manners and understands what is expected. He is currently receiving Basic Obedience Training from Shayne at GAK9. He is learning quickly and is responsive to me and obeys my commands. He will need continued training in his new home so he learns who his new leader(s) is and to develop a proper, respectful bond.
 
Shadow is a sweet dog, but high energy and will need an active lifestyle and a strong, confident leader. He needs structured exercise and would do well with a human companion who runs, hikes, or the like. Just letting him out in a back yard will not meet his his exercise needs. He rides well in a car and likes going on adventures. He is good with other dogs, but does play a little rough because he is excited. He is not aggressive just very enthusiastic. He does become submissive when corrected by my large male, but needs continuing socialization to understand proper play. A dog daycare facility would be a good way to teach him appropriate interaction. He has nice house manners even though he never lived in a family situation. During the evening, he lays quietly on a bed. He is a very nice dog looking to begin a new chapter in his life with a loving family. He has a lot of love and is looking for that special family to call his very own.
