German Shepherd Dog : : Female
Sheba has been in a shelter for the last two months, so as to be expected she has to learn how to be in a warm, loving home. She is a very calm girl that just wants to be loved. Upon arrival at her foster home she met the resident dogs, cats and bird with appropriate behavior. She has meet children as well and has done well with them. She has had no accidents in the house at this time. She appears to prefer concrete over the potty station that is available in the dog area when she has been let out to relieve herself. She shows no interest in toys, but was quick so sit pretty for a cookie. She showed interest in a bone once it was placed in her mouth. She has come up to the resident dog and tried to initiate play but it's usually to get them out of their crate or off the dog bed so that she can take their spot as she likes to spend time with people taking naps. She sleeps well on a dog bed through the night next to her humans even with all the other dogs walking past her. Sheba wants to be in the same room with her people, so she will follow you where ever you go, but finds a comfy spot to settle down once in the same room as her people. She is not a vocal dog, if the younger dogs want to play and are pushing her she'll just give a little smile and retreat to another spot she seems to be very laid back and a little unsure of what is going on at this point. She is thin and lacks muscle tone and does appear to have some soreness on her left side. She enjoyed her spa day of bath, brushing, nail clipping and even the hair between her toes clipped to make it easier to walk on the hard wood floors.
