German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Large
Hi I am Doug. I was rescued from a bad situation by a nice family recently. But their kids stressed me out. You see, I am blind and they were too unpredictable. I do not like to brag, but my foster mom says I am super intelligent and a marvel to watch. She says I walk well on a leash, I am housetrained, and crate trained. I enjoy walks and hikes, but I like to balance that with much food and naps with my foster mom. She calls me "cuddle doug" because I love to cuddle. She says I am loyal and a velcro dog. Hey, I just like to be where she is and help her with everything. I do not know how she got anything done before I came to help her. I came to her knowing few commands but she says I am learning very fast. I do not like more than one or two stairs but I like car rides and jump in and out of her car no problem. I like to chase cats and squirrels. She says being middle aged, I have moderate exercise needs. I get excited when she gets home from work but I settle down quickly. I tolerate other dogs but I prefer human company. She says I do not need your pity, I do amazingly well for myself. I just need someone with either GSD experience or obedience experience and desire to learn more to work with me on obedience and make modifications for my blindness. She says I am so smart that if she does not take the lead, I set the agenda. But it just takes a firm command to bring me in line. More about DougGood with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
