About Starr

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Ear Type: Natural/Uncropped
All this and brains too? Starr is simply stunning, and will turn heads when you take her anywhere. She is a pure-bred, long-haired, white German Shepherd with strong breeding lines. Her beautiful white coat is silky and full and her amber eyes complement some of the wheat coloring that highlights her white coat. She has a beautiful, regal head. Starr is also incredibly smart, courageous and athletic. She is made for agility or search and rescue. She loves to go for hikes in the woods and jog along with her foster mom. She can jump on or over anything and is quite curious about any new situation. Starr loves to play with some dogs- running in circles, jumping, loving life. She is a strong girl though, and will be leader of the pack. For this reason, she should be appropriately introduced to any current family dogs. Starr would also do well as the only dog. Starr loves to chase cats no harm intended just a real challenge for a girl who loves challenges for that reason, Starr would be best placed in a home without cats. Starr is very good with young children and has bonded very well with her foster family. She is house-trained and crate-trained and tattooed and microchipped. Before VGSR took her in, Starr had two litters before she was 14 months old - so needless to say, she is spayed and not planning any more children. Starr is a dog with unlimited and untapped potential as a real winner. She needs an owner who wants a loyal, active companion. Although donations of all types are needed, our primary need is foster homes for our lovely dogs while they wait for their new family to find them. Fostering is an extremely rewarding experience. Vet care is paid for by our rescue, and we can even provide you with food. All YOU need to add is love and security.

The adoption process starts with the applicant filling out the adoption application. This can happen at any time during the process, before or after having met a GSD that might be the ideal companion. (It's an advantage to have a pre-approved application on file with VGSR. It should be stressed here that being pre-approved does not mean that any potential adopter can select any available dog at will and take that dog home immediately. VGSR will exercise its best judgement as to which GSD will be the best match for that specific adopter based on a number of qualifying criteria. Many GSDs that come to us are matched up with their new people very quickly because their people have been pre-approved.) The applicant then submits the application form with a non-refundable $10.00 processing fee. VGSR reviews the application, then schedules an interview and home visit during which a number of questions are asked and the home is reviewed to be sure there is a contained/safe yard, and to meet the family involved. Once the application is approved, the applicant is asked to submit a $200.00 donation to VGSR, and the adoption is completed.
