3/15/24 - SHEP 6748 has turned out to be a very sweet, affectionate youngster! He is a Velcro dog and picks his person. He has bonded with his foster dad and the saying a man's best friend couldn't be more true. He is just a happy and goofy dog. He will sit in front of you or want to climb on the couch with you and bark at you which translates to rub me, pllleeeassee! We're working on good manners. He enjoys playing in the yard, playing with toys and going for car rides. An adopter should be familiar with GSDs. Meet SHEP 6748. Shep is looking for his forever person. This poor boy spent 4 months in a shelter cooped up, followed by a month in boarding - 5 months of his short life have been spent in containment.  Now he is in a home and loving it! He is house trained and crate trained. Shep is a new arrival so there's a lot to learn about him. So far we know that he loves hard with all of his heart, he bonds to his person very quickly and has a bad habit of herding people. He is a happy boy who listens well. He knows sit and down. Loves treats but can be zealous when taking them so watch your fingers. Shep has a lot of energy, loves running in the yard and chewing his bones/toys. He likes riding in the car but can be a tad bit whiny as he's excited. Shep is very affectionate to those he loves and standoffish to those he does not know. He will be neutered 3/12/24 and will also be microchipped and vetted. Shep would be best in an adult only home or one with older teenagers, no youngsters! Shep would thrive in a home with a single owner or a couple who have GSD experience and can be strong leaders. He is a gorgeous boy who is strong and young. He tested well with other dogs and had playtime with other dogs in boarding.
