German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Female (not spayed) : : Adult
Meet Gwen 6742 who is ready for a best friend! This sweet sweet soul has a pretty tragic story. On January 10th, animal control was called notifying them that a house was vacant and that they hadn't seen anyone since around Christmas and thought that some dogs were left behind. When animal control went in they found three GSDs locked in crates, covered in urine and feces. Gwen and the other two dogs were taken immediately to the vet where they were treated for starvation and dehydration. Gwen weighed 32lbs. Fast forward, Gwen's other two friends were adopted and she has waited so patiently and we're so happy she is with VGSR! Despite her rough past, she is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever fostered. She is good with everyone, friendly as can be. She loves playing with other dogs and even did well with cats and livestock. She is house trained, crate trained and has a stellar temperament. We don't know Gwen's age but would estimate she is young, maybe around 1 year old. She is very playful and loves toys. She is settling into her foster home and will be spayed on 3/4/24. She is UTD on vaccines microchipped and is negative for heart worms and tick diseases. Gwen is a special girl who deserves the very best home!
