Spot was an owner surrender where he lived his life mostly as an outside dog and didn't get much socialization with anyone other than his family. So when he came to us, he was very frightened of living in a kennel. He lost a lot of weight and his behavior started regressing. With plenty of time, gentle training from our volunteers, and lots of love and TLC, Spot became less and less anxious. But we realized he needed more than what our volunteers could provide. So we made the decision to take Spot to The Trusted Companion for a 5 week board and train. You can see from this video the 'real' Spot. He excelled in training and is so smart. 

Spot is a dog who needs lots of motivation. He has a strong prey drive and would love to find a person who wants to stay active and play! Play is the essential thing he needs every day. Have you ever been interested in playing scent games or doing nosework with a canine companion? Spot is your dog! He is motivated and ready to learn. Spot will make a fantastic companion for the person interested in cultivating and creating a lifelong relationship.

Now Spot is back with us. We tried to capture the highlights of his 5 weeks of training in this video of less than 4 minutes. Spot is the perfect size dog- just around 43 pounds, 5-6 yrs old and in great health. He loves to play and will need a home where he can enjoy walks and playing fetch. We cannot say how he is with cats. He does well with other dogs when he is not fenced in or in the kennel. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have a dog to see how they would get along.
