Hi! I'm Arrow, a 2 year old German Shepherd mix. I weigh about 60 pounds. I have been with my current family about a year and a half after being rescued from a local shelter. My adoptive family is seeking a new home for me because of leash reactivity to other dogs. Despite me being very dog-social in play groups and daycare, my leash behavior still needs some work so I can be calm when I see other dogs on my walks. I am neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. I don't have any known health issues aside from seasonal allergies between March and May.

My current family describes me as:

  • Playful
  • Friendly
  • Likes to be touched
  • Affectionate
  • Protective
  • House-Trained
  • Crate-Trained
  • Likes men
  • Likes women
  • I have graduated from Academy Dog Training’s 3-week basic obedience class. I learned down, stay, sit, down-stay.
  • I know to wait to touch my food until given the “OK.”
  • I know “wait”
  • I can turn around, give paw, and high five.
  • I'm used to being home 8-10 hours/day a few days a week.

While my owners are away, I am in my crate on the first floor of the house. When my owners are home, I am on whatever floor they are on - I love to be with my people!

I eat: 1.5 cups of A Taste of the Wild: Pacific Stream (salmon) dry food, mixed with 1/3 cup Merrick: Grain Free Lamb Recipe wet food, two times a day.

My adoptive parents I love children, but I tend to get very excited around them and I may accidentally knock them over. I would love to find a forever family with older children!

Even though I am awesome at daycare/boarding with all of my friends, it may be best that I'm the only dog at home. I have experience getting along great when I stay with my family's female dog for a few days at a time. I get really excited outside when I see cats, so I would prefer not to live with them.

My ideal forever home, described by my current family:

Arrow deserves to be with a person/family who is experienced with bully and shepherd breeds and is willing to continue training with him to control his reactivity and establish trust with his owners.

A fenced-in yard would be ideal for Arrow as he works to control his reactivity on walks.

A suburban or rural environment would suit him best, as the loud sounds of the city may make him nervous.

He is very obedient and loyal to his humans within the house and on walks until he is overstimulated by seeing a dog or other animals.

Arrow loves to cuddle on the couch and be near his humans. He will give you the bully breed “boop”/herding nudge with his snout when he wants to let you know he’s in need of more cuddles.

If you would like to meet a good boy who always tries his best, is willing and wants to work hard, and just wants all the love and cuddles humans can offer, please consider adopting me, Arrow!
