Dixie 3831 is one of those special dogs that come into your life and leaves an impression on your heart and soul. She is extremely sweet and affectionate. She is a Velcro shepherd and just wants to be with her people. She is learning the comforts of being an indoor dog after spending her entire life outside in a kennel. Her favorite spots are on her elevated bed or on the couch next to you! Dixie does well on leash and she loves riding in the car and is a great passenger! She is food motivated and learns quickly - she is SO smart! She needs some manners as she enjoys counter surfing to find goodies that are within her reach! Dixie is an affectionate girl with a sweet disposition. She has the perfect combination of energy and calmness. If you want to go hiking she is ready but if you'd prefer to veg out on the couch she'll be right there with you. She enjoys toys, chewing and naps. Dixie is good with children (not sure about toddler aged kids). She does well with some dogs, a meet and greet would be needed for any adopter with another dog. She can be dominant but has also done well with several other dogs - she just has not learned manners when interacting. Dixie would also be very happy as an only dog and isn't a dog that needs another canine companion. Dixie is heart worm and lyme positive. She has already finished her initial course of doxycycline for both and has started on her monthly heart worm preventatives - she is not symptomatic. If you are looking for an awesome dog to be a loving and loyal companion, look no further!
