9/30/21:Sassy 3762 is large and in charge! Sassy found herself as an owner surrender in a kill shelter. She was on the code red list and had very limited time before VGSR pulled her to save her life. Sassy spent most of her life living chained outside during the day and slept inside a home at night - she has had limited companionship and people interaction. Despite that, she has been friendly with everyone she has met but can be reserved at first. Sassy is adjusting well to being an inside dog and getting loved on. She is a very large girl at 110lbs who has never been taught leash manners or manners around food. Sassy has some sass when is comes to food and will not hesitate to find goodies in a trashcan, snatch something yummy off the counter or plant herself in the middle of the kitchen during meal preparation. She is house trained, crate trained and is learning what car rides are. Sassy doesn't seem to know what toys are or what to do with them but she has enjoyed chewing on bones. She gets a brief case of zoomies in the yard. Sassy did well during her dog evaluation at the shelter, she also tested well with cats. We will be introducing her to other dogs soon to see how she reacts. She goes to the vet Friday (10/1/21) for vaccine updates and and a checkup. Stay tuned as we learn more about Sassy!

10/15/21: Sassy is a big ole goofball once she has adequate time to adjust to her environment and the people in it. She likes riding in the car but needs a seatbelt. She really likes stuffed toys, balls and bones. Sassy likes going for walks but pulls unless on a training collar. She can be pushy and obsessive over food. She has the potential to guard food from other animals and shouldn't be around small children with food. She enjoys affection on her terms once she trusts you but prefers strangers not hug on her. She is pretty neutral around other dogs but would prefer a calmer home and she would be very happy as an only dog. Sassy has been friendly with everyone she has met but seems to seek out attention from men.  Approved adopters may email her foster at gsd2020k9@gmail.com
