10/13/20: This good-looking youngster is Duke 4568. Duke is around 12 months old. He was rescued from a shelter in West Virginia due to his owners surrendering him because he was said to not get along with the Great Dane in the home. Duke is a complete Velcro dog and bonds quickly. He loves being near his people and he will smother you with slobbery kisses! Duke is potty-trained and crate trained.  Duke knows basic commands such as sit and corrects well with a stern voice. We are working on leash manners but he will needed continued work. Duke is friendly and has done well meeting new people although he could benefit from continued socialization as he seems weary of new situations. He will need a strong leader to provide training and structure to prevent him from becoming over protective of his pack. Duke is a high energy pup that gets zoomies in the yard and can be energetic in the house (typical puppy energy). He is not destructive he just does not realize his size.  Duke got a great overall report from the vet today and is a healthy boy. He is being currently being treated for lyme, an ear infection and an upset tummy. Duke is not recommended for a home with toddlers or cats.

10/15/20: Duke has done wonderful meeting new dogs. He has acted appropriately and has shown no signs of aggression. He has met our female GSD as well as our male Belgian Malinois. Duke was neutral with both! 

10/18/20: Duke went to an event over the weekend where he met at least 100 different people ranging from children to senior citizens and saw several dogs. He was a superstar and did amazing! He let everyone pet him and even gave a few people kisses. He was behaved around the other dogs and did great with introductions with the ones he met.
