Hello my name is Amelia. I lived on the street. I don't know how long but I believe it has been quite a while as I am very skinny. While at the shelter I got an Upper Respiratory Infection. I didn't feel well and I slept a lot. I was so tired I laid there while they brushed me. Wow did I need a good brushing. Thankfully my foster mom came and took me home with her. Now I have a nice soft bed, food and water. I also have a four legged foster brother to follow around. I like to be with my pack. I learned how to push a baby gate down so I could be with them. Amelia is as sweet as they come. She is coming out of her shell more and more every day. I will update as I get to know her more.

Amelia here. Since my last post, I have been to this place called "the vet" twice. I was so scared I was shaking. The vet said I looked like I had a rough life. My skin was dry and my coat was dull, my ears were infected and I had hematomas, my back legs/hips looked odd, my eyes were infected and I had an upper respiratory infection. They took blood and a urine sample. While waiting for the test results, my foster mom was worried.  She knew the results would not be good.  The call came in from the vet. My foster mom was relieved when the vet said all test results were negative. The vet recommended a medicated bath to help with the scratching. I was not fond of getting a bath. I was scared and started shaking. My foster mom kept telling me I was a good girl and I got treats. Boy, do I like treats. On my second vet visit, the vet checked my skin, ears and eyes. My skin is all better now and my coat is shiny. My ears and eyes were still bad. I got more medicine for both.

On a happier note, I am feeling better.  I really enjoy being with my foster family.  My four-legged foster brother is teaching me how to play ball. I'll let him fetch it and then I'll snatch it out of his mouth. Soon I'll be strong enough to beat him to the ball. Catching the ball is a little tricky.  It goes one way and I go the other.  I'll keep trying till I get the hang of it.

Amelia is settling in nicely. She is getting more active as she feels better and gains strength.  She's not fond of crates which is fine. She's good to let roam free. Amelia rides well in a car once you get her in. Seems like she hasn't been in a vehicle much as she is scared to get in. She is very timid and shy in public. Once she gains more weight, she will be spayed and have a skin tag removed from her belly. If you are an approved adopter and would like to meet Amelia, please contact me at bippyw7@yahoo.com.
