Aspen #4704 is a plump and good-natured middle-aged lady. She is 7 years old, black and tan with a light face and a medium coat.
She is spayed, current on her shots, and weighs about 90 lbs. She could stand to lose a few pounds and we are working on that with diet and exercise.
She is getting a little stiff in the hips and spine, but it is not serious yet. She is currently recovering from bronchitis and and abcess on her hip.
Aspen is very affectionate to people and seems to be warming up to our boy Siegfried. She has excellent house manners, and doesn't really need a crate.
She will go into her crate willingly with a treat or a toy, and sleeps quietly through the night.
She seems to like most people, but I haven't tested her with children or cats. She does not like little white dogs. She will do best as an only dog.
She will require frequent brushing to keep her coat clean and free of debris. She likes to splash in the water and roll around on the cool grass.
She is a medium- to low-energy dog and is a very cheerful companion.
Update on 6/5/2018
Aspen auditioned for daycare today, and it did not go well. She is not good with other dogs, especially in a crowd or daycare situation. She can be aggressive with toys.
She will be happiest as an only dog, where she can give and receive affection all the time.
