Exciting News:   Atlanta is pending adoption.  This gal has weathered a tough and painful surgery and maintained her happy disposition through it all.  Thank you to all that have supported and sponsored Atlanta.

Atlanta is around 6 years old and is almost 70 pounds, though she could stand to gain some weight. She came to us from a North Carolina shelter with a tumor on her rear left leg.  However, the tumor has been removed and Atlanta is on the mend. There is a chance the tumor, diagnosed as a low grade fibrosarcoma, could reoccur in the future, however it is rare for these types of tumors to spread. She is HW negative, spayed and microchipped.

Atlanta is a very sweet, affectionate girl who deserves a family that will give her all the belly rubs she wants!  She is a pretty laid back girl - Atlanta is perfectly content laying on her bed in the room with you, or lounging in the shade outside chewing on whatever stick she can find! She will even bring the stick to you for you to throw for her from time to time!

She rides well in the car, jumping right in, but likes to have the window down just enough for her to get some fresh air. She is still settling in, but we have noticed she can be a bit nervous about loud noises like thunder, fireworks, and airplanes passing overhead. We have yet to hear her bark, rather she quietly observes our neighbors walking past the house. She is good with other dogs, both big and small with the proper introductions, and good with all people.
