Adopted!
|
| A Military Working Dog, Quera worked as an explosive detection dog for 6 years at Andrews Air
Force Base in Maryland. She performed searches in support of the President, the Vice President, the First Lady,
and countless foreign and domestic distinguished visitors. She just recently traveled to Rome, Italy when the President
went there to meet with the Pope. Quera was retired at the age of 11 and diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease.
She is an absolute love. She gets a little grabby about treats and so should not be in a home with small children. She
also is not good with cats. Her whole life, she has been encouraged to chase anything like that. She is alright with bigger
dogs, but not necessarily with smaller dogs. I love "Q" and enjoyed working her as her handler. I am being sent to Italy
for three years and cannot take Q with me. I had hoped that she would get better about the cats, but she hasn't. It's just
not fair expecting her to live in a crate for 14+ hours a day while I am at work every day. She is a wonderful dog who
deserves better than this.
