| Sweet Pete was one depressed boy. Rescued literally in his last hour, Pete gave kisses to his rescuer in the car on the way home. He was so sad in the shelter, and it shows in his melancholy eyes and on his bones, as he stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. He is brand new so we are still learning about him, but we do know his situation is the product of a divorce. He had been abused, but he harbors no ill will toward people. He is shy at first, until he knows he can trust you, and then he will snuggle and give you gentle kisses. If you look carefully, you will even see a spark of happiness in those eyes. He is reported to be house-trained, and likes to play ball with kids. He is about 7 years old, likes to ride in the car, and can give his paw and sit. Pete deserves a better life than the one he's had so far. A little love goes a long way with this boy. Can you help rekindle the light of happiness in his sad eyes? We are delighted to add that Pete is totally cool with the kitties! Our cat, Kissy, just walked over top of his head to get to the back of the sofa and Pete did not even as much as sniff him! Pete gets along great with other dogs, too. We have also found out that he is a major couch potato and bed hog. And he talks! If you ask him questions, he will answer you with a muted little woof woof type of bark. We have had lots of fun with this endearing quality. More details to come on this special boy. | |
