Josey #2

Updated on Monday, 07/05/2004

Adopted!

Josey is a three year old pitch-black German Shepherd. Josey is full of life and obedient. She absolutely LOVES playing with balls and squeaky toys, and will amuse herself for hours running around the yard with a toy in her mouth. Josey's most favorite toy ever is a plush duck that quacks when it's squeezed, and Josey will seek this toy out above all others. She takes great care not to harm the toy - she seems to know if she bites it too much, she might accidentally hurt it! Josey is crate-trained and house-trained. She is tremendously agile, and flies over baby gates, however shows absolutely no interest in leaving her yard, which is surrounded by a 4 1/2 foot split rail fence. Josey rides very well in the car. Josey picks her friends very carefully, and should only be placed in a home with a submissive dog. She plays for long periods of time with Phoenix (also available), but is argumentative with most female dogs, and sometimes male dogs, too. She is very dominant, thus would need to be placed with a submissive dog only. Josey likes cats, all right - she prefers them with a side of teriyaki sauce please (NO CATS!). Josey would excel at higher obedience, agility, or some other job. She seems to have an endless supply of energy. Despite her high energy, Josey does know how to settle down in the house, and is surprisingly good around toddlers and smaller children. Josey requires a stable diet, and a supplement twice daily to help her digest her food. Her foster is slowly weaning her off of this supplement in hopes that it will not be a lifelong thing. Even if it is, Josey eats it like candy, and does NOT have any side effects. She is perfectly healthy and happy. Josey frequently attends adoption events in hopes of finding her own active family. She is being fostered in Maryland. DBMD
