Itsy Bitsy

Updated on Wednesday, 04/16/2003

Adopted!

Itsy Bitsy - who was formerly known as R221 at the shelter in southern VA, is a tiny GSD with a huge bark! Bitsy, who came to us very skinny at 37 lbs. is now up to 49 lbs. She will always be very small for a GSD. She likes to wrestle with other dogs and will bark at cats. She is almost housebroken now - we still have an accident once in a while. Bitsy is an excellent rider in the car and very quiet if you put her in a crate. Someone has been very unkind to poor Bitsy at some point in her life - she is very cautious of new folks at first. She is now very attached to my sister, Sue, and runs to her when someone else frightens her. Bitsy will jump up on the couch behind Sue and bury her face under Sue's arms if she feels threatened. She is around a year old according to the vet. Bitsy has already been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. Now she just needs to find a person to make her feel safe and help her turn into a confident dog. Her favorite game is called "I'm gonna git you" and it entails us chasing her until she flops down or jumps on the sofa. Then we "git her" (which equates to hugging and petting her!). She loves doing this and will follow us around hoping that we will play the game again.
