Gator-Aid

Updated on Saturday, 11/27/2004

We knew you would look here to see just WHY we need Gator-Aid. Gator's bio is on the web site and he is currently in the process of being adopted. Gator and his mom, a beautiful GSD named Allie (who is also available for adoption on the web site) came from a shelter in southern Virginia. Both Gator and his mom, Allie, were scheduled to be euthanized unless a rescue committed to taking them. That's when we stepped in to save them! But, as it turns out, Allie had heartworms, so she needed expensive treatment in order to get healthy. Then, Gator, who had appeared to be healthy, got very sick and his health went downhill very quickly. He had to undergo emergency surgery in order to save his life. Between Gator and his mom, VGSR has spent somewhere around $3000.00. Were they worth it? - you bet! It was worth every penny to save their lives. They are both wonderful dogs that will make fabulous additions to someone's family. Allie is a very well-mannered girl who is a pleasure to have around. Gator is outgoing and friendly to all he meets. But between the two of them, they put a pretty serious, unplanned dent in the VGSR kitty. We are making a special plea to try and build up our funds again so that we won't have to turn away dogs in the future that need our help. Won't you please consider sending in a donation to help defray these expenses? Thanks kindly for your generosity. Gator and Allie show us their gratitude every day for having been given a second chance to live and give their love to some special families.
