Frau is a black-and-tan, 6-year-old, female, GSD (with papers). She is a large dog (about 110 pounds), and was too much dog for her former owners who didn't do anything with her and didn't want her any more, so she is now in foster care with VGSR. She has an effective "intruder alert" bark, and will be protective of her home and family, but otherwise seems to be a gentle girl. She got along well with her former owners' grandchildren, and has acted well with the other dogs in her foster home. She has learned to play fetch at her new foster home, and enjoys playing with a tennis ball. She is enjoying her increased level of exercise, and will lose weight as she gets in shape. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and UTD on all shots/preventative. Frau was an outdoor dog at her former home, so her house manners will need some work and she needs some more socialization. Given her size, an experienced GSD handler is preferred and an obedience class is recommended to establish some basic commands.
