Bear is a handsome, AKC-registered, 7-year-old, male GSD that undeservedly was kenneled outside until rescued by VGSR. Although his previous owners have children (and cats), Bear is doing well in a quiet foster home with a pack of 2 dogs and 1 person, so he would most likely do better in a similar situation to his foster home. He loves car rides (rides well) and loves walks - they don't have to be long, but he LOVES them. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and is a polite dog in the house (except for a few drinks from the toilet). Bear bonds quickly and will follow you from room to room. He gets along with other dogs, but needs to be reined in around small dogs. He is uncertain in new situations and much prefers to approach people on his own terms. Bear needs someone who is experienced in obedience and/or GSDs so they can guide him and give him the confidence he needs, and Bear needs to finally be a meaningful part of the family.
