![]() Pancho |
Adopted! Pancho is a sweet young boy. He's already a daddy, but VGSR we'll be sure that doesn't happen again! Little Poncho is a happy boy who doesn't seem to have a care in the world. He gets along well with other dogs, male and female alike. We'll be testing him around kitties as soon as we can. He bonds quickly to his "person" or "people" and likes to stick close to me. He could stand some obedience lessons, as it's apparent that no one has ever expected much of him, although he's extremely willing to please. Pancho travels very well in the car, either watching where we're going, or lying down for nap time. As with most young dogs, Pancho has a bunch of energy to burn off. He'd enjoy a home with children or active adults. Pancho is also quite little - possibly the smallest German Shepherd I've ever seen. Pancho is being fostered in Maryland, and looks forward to meeting you at the next adoption event. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Paris |
Adopted! If you have ever thought of Paris in the Springtime, here is your chance. This beautiful German Shepherd is
patiently waiting for her permanent home. Paris is a lovely, black-and-tan, pure-bred German Shepherd about 1.5
years old. We found her in an animal shelter where she had been picked up as a stray. Now she has a new life. She is
high-energy and would love a long trip to the dog park, obedience class or maybe a game of fetch. She weighs about
70 pounds. Paris is house- and crate-trained, and working on her leash manners. She would be a good companion
for another active dog, to keep her busy. Cats are an unknown. Paris is ready to meet you. JBVA < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Paris #2 |
Adopted! Paris is probably about 2-3 years old and weighs about 75 pounds. Paris has only been here a couple of days, so
we don't know too much about her. It is easy to tell that she's eager to please. She's smart and knows the basics of
sit, stay, and down, and even tries to heel. She's still young and will need a few more lessons before she is set in her
training. Right now what she likes best is to lie quietly at my side, but we know that she also likes to romp and play
and fetch her ball. She's quiet and good in the house. She is good with other dogs and gets on fine with her five foster
brothers and sisters, just wishes there were not quite so many on them. We will have to update you on Paris as we
learn more about her. DBTVA

![]() Parker #2 |
Adopted! Parker is a gem. He is nine months old, bred from German lines, and ready to join your family. Parker has a gorgeous black and red plushy coat. He will be medium size when he is an adult. Parker has been tattooed, leash and obedience trained, a real gentleman for such a young dog. To be on the safe side, he should not be in a home with cats. Parker loves to go for long walks, play tennis ball and cuddle with you. He is playful with other dogs and will act like a teenage German Shepherd. Parker needs a family that will appreciate that he is such a special boy. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Parker #3 |
Adopted! Parker is a neutered, male GSD, about 10 months old. He has a very sweet and friendly disposition, but has lived
his life outside so far and has no training to speak of. He is fine with other dogs, loves to play, and seems fine with kids,
too. He is very submissive to people, but has no fear. He has no experience with cats. Parker has been crated at night
since coming to his new foster home and he seems fine with that. He needs someone that will teach him some basic
obedience (he already sits when you can get his attention) and work with him on house training. Parker is not a big
barker, but he is vocal and "talks" when he's excited and trying to express himself. As he becomes accustomed to a
routine, he settles into it and accepts it. Parker is still a big puppy and he will need plenty of regular outdoor exercise to
work off his energy. He'd be great at any job you gave him, from being a jogging companion, agility champion, or just
chasing off geese. Parker is about 80 pounds now and still has some growing to do. Parker is being fostered near
Charlottesville, VA, but will be attending VGSR adoption events. You can contact his foster home at vadogrescue@aol.com
if you have any questions or would like to meet Parker. JBVA

![]() Pascal |
Adopted! Pascal is a white male German Shepherd about 4-to-5 months old. Pascal is a curious and very playful pup with
energy to spare. Pascal is currently being crate-and house-trained at his foster home. He loves to play with other
dogs, children, cats as most puppies do. Pascal is up-to-date on his shots and would love to find his forever home
while he is still very young. Pascal is being fostered in the Shenandoah Valley. RDVA.

![]() Patience |
Adopted! I am Patience, a beautiful 2-3 year old sable female German Shepherd Dog. I'm a nice girl who's looking for
a home. I am new to VGSR and my foster parents are still learning about me and my personality. I am currently
getting over a cold I picked up at the shelter, but except for an occasional sneeze, you would never know anything
is wrong with me. I am playful and full of energy. I love the back yard at my temporary home, but also like to be
with humans. I am good with other dogs, and the jury is still out regarding cats (I would be easily trained to live
peacefully with cats, but it is not guaranteed I will be OK from the get-go). The vet says that except for my little
cold, I am a healthy dog and I was very well behaved with my doctor. I am a good weight at 75 lbs. I am probably
fine with children, although I don't have any in my foster home. Due to my activity level, older children would
probably be best. Although I need to get over my cold, I am otherwise available for adoption, and I hope you'll pick
me as your new best friend. Contact barbie@shepherdrescue.org if you are interested in adopting me! DBMD

![]() Patton |
Adopted! Patton is about 2-1/2 years old, a black-and-tan GSD. He is 103 pounds of snuggle boy! We fell in love with him immediately at the shelter where he placed his head on our lap. Ahwww... He is house-trained, has good house manners, loves to play ball, and is getting along well with his foster dog family. This big general made our Sr. foster, Bonnie, go speechless! We think she has a crush on him, and who wouldn't. He loves all people and greets you with those GSD "love ears" and happy tail wag. Good family dog! Have room in your home for a General? Patton is in the Virginia Beach area. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Peanut |
Adopted! My name is Peanut. I am all-white but my ears have some black on them. I am 14 weeks old, and weigh 16.3lbs. I am looking for my forever home! My foster mom teaching me how to walk on a leash. Boy, is that fun. I love to play a lot especially with the tennis ball. Well, so do my other two sisters, Midnight and Sunshine. I am now trying the house-training, I know that I will do well with everything that my foster mom teaches me and my sisters. We are very smart. I really would enjoy puppy training school. Boy, this would be fun for me and my forever family. I am being fostered in Maryland. PE |
![]() Pearl |
Adopted! Hi, I'm Pearl, and I am a pure-bred, white GSD. I'm 11 months old, and I am looking for a forever home. I just went to live with my litter-mate near Williamsburg, but my sister doesn't seem to want to share her home. I do like to play with other dogs; just not my sister right now. I am very sweet and well-behaved. I will sit and give you my paw if you ask me to. I do like to chew (puppy) if I am left alone, but hopefully I will grow out of it. I sleep in my crate at night and stay in it while my people are away during the day. I love children of all ages. I'm house-broken! I love to give big kisses to everyone! I will follow the kids around the yard for you. Cats? I've never met one. Do you have room in your heart for this sweet puppy. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pearl #2 |
Adopted! Pearl is about six years old and appears to be a shepherd/beagle mix. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and current on shots. Pearl came to her current VGSR foster home along with two purebred German Shepherds, Breena and Claus, when her owner became too ill to care for her any longer. Pearl lived indoors and is fully house-trained. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and even birds. Pearl is a little overweight at 47 pounds, but is getting more exercise in her current home living with two other young active dogs, so she will slim down fast. Pearl will be a very loyal and devoted companion. She enjoys walks, but does not require a lot of activity. Please contact her foster home at vadogrescue@aol.com if you have any questions. |
![]() Pearl #3 |
Adopted! What a gem! Lovely Pearl is about 4 years old, and weighs 73 pounds. This beautiful dog was found as a stray. She appears to have been a member of a family because the first thing she did when she came into her foster home was to take a dog toy and make herself right at home. She is house-trained. Pearl is very affectionate; giving kisses to all her human friends. She wants very much to please and appreciates any attention that she is given. She loves to play ball and will fetch and return the ball. She understands basic commands but could use some refresher work. Pearl is possessive of her toys with other dogs but may outgrow this as she settles into her new home. She lets her foster parents take toys from her with no problem. Our initial feeling is that she is okay with cats - she is curious, but not aggressive. She will make a wonderful companion for a family who can provide her with the love and attention she deserves. Pearl is being fostered in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pearl #4 |
Adopted! Hooooow-Dee! Please meet our very own Minnie Pearl! (aka known as Pearly Twirly Girly - she dances circles when you
get out the food bowl!) She is a very special dog and will require couch privileges in her new home. She likes to put her head on
your lap and share the sofa with you! Pearl is a sweet, petite, little pooch that is bound to steal your heart. She only weighs
around 45 lbs. She is house-trained, rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash and does not have to be crated when you are
at work. She met the cat, sniffed, the cat, licked the cat, and then walked away. Pearl is shy when she first meets you, but is
very affectionate once she warms up to you. Poor Pearl had quite a few litters of pups in her short life from the looks of her
under-carriage. She also needs to be treated for heartworm infestation. As soon as we get a couple more pounds on her frame
she will undergo her heartworm treatment and be spayed. She came to us totally emaciated, but she is looking better every single
day. SLVA

![]() Pebbles |
Adopted! Hi - my name is Pebbles (although I am ashamed to admit that my foster folks have started calling me Fruity Pebbles and now I even answer to Fruity!) and I am about one year old. I have been "spayed" and have been poked at the vets enough times so that all my shots are "up to date!". I love to ride in the car, and today I got to go hiking for the first time down at the Potomac River. My foster dad said that I was a real good girl on my first big trip out! I am house-trained, and since I do not chew, I do not need to be a in crate when you are at work. I like to play with other dogs too! I'm real smart and I have learned to SIT, DOWN and COME! I wonder what these foster parents will teach me next? They tell me that I am a very quick learner. Also, even though I am VERY friendly and like people, I am a most excellent watch dog and I will sound a huge alarm if someone knocks at the door. My bark is so big that folks think I weigh 120 lbs. instead of 60 lbs. If you adopt me, I promise, Dog's honor, to be a real, real good girl. So, wouldn't you like to have a little Fruity Pebbles in the morning? < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pepper |
Adopted! Pepper is a sweet, pure-bred, black and tan, 4 year old German Shepherd whose family must give her up due to their toddler's allergies. She is housebroken, does not dig, chew, or jump, and barks very little. Pepper will sit, shake and lie down when asked. She's quite a pretty, and is a very well-mannered girl. She also loves children, cats, car rides, long walks and a good game of ball. Wouldn't you like to add such a nice girl to your family? She's now in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pepper #3 |
Adopted! Hi! My name is Pepper. I am 9 months old. I am up-to-date on my vaccinations, but I have not been neutered yet. The
nice people at VGSR are taking care of that soon. I am friendly and playful. I'm looking for someone to love me and "show me
the ropes". I'm a happy guy that only wants to please. I'm a fast learner. I already know what "sit" means. I'm just waiting to
learn more! Will you be the one who will show me how to be the "perfect" German Shepherd? Won't you come out and meet
me at an adoption day soon? I'm being fostered in the Shenandah Valley. Tag # 776, PSMSV

![]() Pete |
Adopted! Sweet Pete was one depressed boy. Rescued literally in his last hour, Pete gave kisses to his rescuer in the car on the way home. He was so sad in the shelter, and it shows in his melancholy eyes and on his bones, as he stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. He is brand new so we are still learning about him, but we do know his situation is the product of a divorce. He had been abused, but he harbors no ill will toward people. He is shy at first, until he knows he can trust you, and then he will snuggle and give you gentle kisses. If you look carefully, you will even see a spark of happiness in those eyes. He is reported to be house-trained, and likes to play ball with kids. He is about 7 years old, likes to ride in the car, and can give his paw and sit. Pete deserves a better life than the one he's had so far. A little love goes a long way with this boy. Can you help rekindle the light of happiness in his sad eyes? We are delighted to add that Pete is totally cool with the kitties! Our cat, Kissy, just walked over top of his head to get to the back of the sofa and Pete did not even as much as sniff him! Pete gets along great with other dogs, too. We have also found out that he is a major couch potato and bed hog. And he talks! If you ask him questions, he will answer you with a muted little woof woof type of bark. We have had lots of fun with this endearing quality. More details to come on this special boy. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Phantom |
Adopted! Introducing the awesome, little black Phantom. Phantom is solid black without a single brown or white hair on
his body - even between his toes! He is an energetic young pup that loves to play with other dogs. He is outgoing,
curious, affectionate, and by the time he is done growing, he will be the size of a small pony. (He is a huge pup.) Since
he is going to be a large boy, and has a strong German line background, we will be looking for a home that has GSD
experience for this special guy. He likes to fetch, is learning to catch a Frisbee and enjoys riding in the car. Please
send an email to contact@shepherdrescue.org if you have any specific questions.

![]() Phoebe |
Adopted! Beautiful Phoebe was abandoned in the woods but found by animal control. Someone may have heard her big bark.
This sweet girl seems to have a kiss for everyone. She is an adult pure-bred German Shepherd that weighs about 80
pounds. Her foster dad has started her on a diet and hopes lots of exercise will help her shape up. She has done well with
large dogs, small dogs and kids over 7. No cats for sure, though. Phoebe would be a great snuggle buddy or walking partner.
She is a lovely black and tan with some red on her back. You will love her black face and long bushy tail. Phoebe is being
fostered in Northern Virginia. HDVA < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Phoebe #2 |
Adopted! Phoebe is an exquisite 3.9-year-old GSD, and is about 80 lbs. of pure sweetness. She is living with other dogs and
some kittens, too. She tries to clean and nurture her kitties as if they are her own ever so gently. She is wonderful
with children and adults, too. She loves to play ball; stuffed toys are great, and anything you want to do is fine with
her. She has good house manners and is house-trained, and is scheduled to be spayed. Leash training will be a must,
but with hand commands she will sit, down, and stay - at least a few minutes! She is an excellent family dog. Got
room in your heart for this special GSD? DBTVA Tag #953

![]() Phoenix |
Adopted! Phoenix is a stunning black-and-red, long-coated German Shepherd. He's just turning 11 months old, and tops the
scales currently at 83 lbs. Phoenix is from a local, well-known breeder, and German bloodlines, but none of that matters
to us. His owner surrendered him to the rescue because recent changes in her health did not allow for a strong boy like
Phoenix. We'd like to place Phoenix with an owner that is experience with large, stubborn GSDs. Phoenix is well trained,
but needs a reminder every now and then regarding who is in charge. We also believe Phoenix would do better in a home
without small children, because he doesn't realize how big he is (he's a tiny bit clumsy) and is still learning that "mouthing"
is unacceptable. Phoenix was house-trained and crate-trained in his previous home. He lived with a cat in his previous
home, too, but will chase a cat if one runs from him, thus a cat is his new home would have to be "dog saavy". We do know
that Phoenix has one hip that is slightly dysplastic - his new owners must pay keen attention to his weight and supplement
his diet with a product called Glycoflex, that aids in joint health and mobility. If Phoenix is kept in tip-top shape, he should
have no problem with his hips. Phoenix has an ID chip that can be registered to his new owner. Phoenix really enjoys
playing with other dogs, and rides well in the car. He is not a "chewer" or a barker. He's neutered and up-to-date on all his
vaccinations. Phoenix is being fostered in Maryland. DBMD < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Piglet |
Adopted! Hi!! My name is Piglet. My real mommy named me Piglet because I eat EVERYTHING!!! My real mommy gave me up
because she didn't have a fenced in yard and I kept running into the road. My foster mommy has a big yard and I love playing
with my big GSD foster brothers. I can hold my own with the big dogs!! I love giving kisses, too. I have not yet met a cat, so I
do not know how I feel about them. I really love kids but, sometimes I can get a little mouthy...I love to chew things. My foster
mom keeps me stocked in marrow bones to keep my little teeth occupied. I am house-trained and crate-trained, but I prefer
bouncing around the house with the dogs and humans!! My foster mom says I have the sweetest "puppy dog eyes" she has
ever seen. She really loves me and is trying to help me find humans that I can call my very own that will love me forever.

![]() Pinky |
Adopted! Pinky, who is the 7 week old daughter of Duchess, will be available for adoption soon (~April 5th). She is very GSD-like in appearance, but we do not know if her father was a GSD or a traveling man. She has a very sweet and outgoing personality thanks to her foster Mom's hard work and lots of hands on socialization. She has had her first set of shots and has been wormed twice. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pixie |
Adopted! Hi, I'm Pixie. I'm a GSD mix, with lots of fluffy hair. Foster mom said I must have had a rough life as an outdoor
dog because my hair was all matted, and full of ticks and fleas. I got dunked in a big tub and then everybody fussed
over me with brushes and stuff. Then I got a good night's sleep with a full tummy and no creepy, crawly things. I'm
a quiet, easy going little girl, and I love all this attention. I'm a quick learner - I figured out how to "sit" right after I
figured out what a treat is! I know what "come" means too - kisses and treats! Yup - I love this kind of life. I haven't
figured out what a forever home means, but the way things are going, I'm going to love that too! LTVA

![]() Player |
Adopted! Player is a friendly, energetic black & tan male. He is about 1.5 years old and should weigh at least 75 pounds. Player is good with other dogs and alert to everything around him. We are still learning about this handsome boy. Player must go to a home with absolutely no cats. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Polar |
Adopted! Polar is an amazing, all white pure-bred German Shepherd. He is 2.5 years old and weighs about 85 pounds. He is gentle, patient and well behaved. He has had a rough life so far, as he was handed from home to home. All he wants now is a permanent home where he can be a member of the family. Polar is house and leash trained. He is smart, knows some basic commands and wants to learn more. Polar lived with young childern in his last home, where he was their faithful guardian. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. He's also great with cats and totally ignores them. He also enjoys riding in the car and is a very good passenger. Polar wants to be your best buddy. |
![]() Porkchop |
Adopted! Porkchop is an 8-month-old, white German Shepherd that always has a smile on his face! He is crate-trained, gets along
really well with my other three dogs, and loves to please. Porkchop would make a great addition to any family. Porkchop is still
a puppy and is a bit "mouthy", although not hard. He may do best in a family with older children. Just a great all-around dog!

![]() Precious |
Adopted! Precious, a beautiful, oh-so-soft, long coated little GSD is looking for a home. Precious is a little more shy, but very, very sweet. She is going to make a sweet girl for someone. Precious has been raised with and loves children. Precious sleeps on the bed with PeeWee the world famous dog testing cat, so cats are no problem at all. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Precious #2 |
Adopted! Precious is a wonderful 2 year old female GSD/husky mix. Precious is being reluctantly given up as her owner had to move into an apartment. We are told Precious does not have any bad habits except that she likes to chase cats. She gets along great with children and other dogs. Precious is spayed and up-to-date on all her shots. Every home deserves a fabulous dog like Precious! Precious is being fostered in southwest Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Precious #3 |
Adopted! Precious - but don't let the name fool you. She is 100% puppy, full of energy with some to spare. She has kisses for everyone, and greeted Carolena the "test kid" by giving her a full "face bath". She is trying to learn how to play with her foster dog siblings, but so far is leery of what it means when my GS barks at her. She seems to prefer the cocker - probably because he's her size. Precious is more than likely a mix in that she is extremely petite and I would not expect her to be very large when she is fully grown. She needs to learn manners to make her into a good pet, and she is not house-broken, but we are working on it (and we've only just brought her into foster care). She's four months old. She is being fostered in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Precious #4 |
Adopted! At the age of 11 weeks, Precious has already been taken away from her mother, rejected by her breeder, and
almost euthanized through no fault of her own. Fortunately, VGSR was able to step in at the last moment. Precious
has an injury to the top of her right femur which will require surgery. Precious has the usual puppy energy, but due
to the pain, does not have coordination in her hind legs. Her playful turns cause her to simply fall over, because one
leg cannot support her weight. She limps when she walks, which puts additional pressure on the other side. The left
hip is beginning to look deformed because she tends to put most of the pressure on that leg. Eventually both legs
would be crippled. A little one with 3 legs is an undesirable option, but a little one with 2 crippled legs can only result
in having to end her life. Virginia German Shepherd Rescue has taken Precious into foster care. We are asking for
your donations to help fund her surgery, so that she can can be a normal puppy. Won't you pleasehelp her find out
what it will be like to play with other puppies, chase balls and butterflies, and grow up to become someone's loving
companion?

![]() Precious #5 |
Adopted! Precious is house-trained and very very loving. She loves to roll over for belly rubs and loves to give kisses. She loves to
jump up and give kisses too...so she does need some manners. She loves to play play play with her foster brothers and sisters.
She plays well with other dogs, but does not like it when other dogs bark at her. She is skinny and needs some weight on her
and some TLC. DGVA

![]() Precious #6 |
Adopted! Precious (Suri) is a 14-month-old, black-and-red GSD that is absolutely stunning! She is very energetic with high drive and
is very eager to please. She's skittish at first and will let you know with the loud bark, but throw a ball and begin to play. She will
literally jump in your car, ready to go. She is good with other dogs but definintely wants to be the alpha dog, but what female
doesn't? She is good on a leash, knows basic commands and has rave reviews with scent tracking. She is all puppy, loves ball, but
needs the home, the forever one. If you are looking for a beautiful, intelligent GSD and can provide the training, socialization,
attention and love this girl needs, please e-mail

![]() Prince |
Adopted! Prince is a special 4 year old boy. At 95 pounds, he is a gentle, easy-going, black and tan gentleman. Prince is smart and wants to learn new things. He wants to learn some tricks and commands. He wants to learn to snuggle and give dog-kisses. Prince wants an easier life where it is safe, dry and warm. He loves to run and play with his best friend, a horse. He has proven he can play nicely with small children. Anyone that shows Prince some love and kindness will have a devoted, loyal best friend. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |

![]() Princess #2 |
Adopted! Here is Princess #2. She is a 13 month old, very underweight black and tan female GSD. She has recently been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccines. Princess is VERY affectionate - she likes to put her head on your lap when you snuggle on the sofa. She has had a pretty rough life - she was dropped off at a vet's office with a litter of sick/dying puppies and was so weak that she had to be carried inside of the clinic. She is now on the rebound and as soon as she gains 25 lbs she will be a beauty. She gets along OK with other dogs after a proper introduction. At first she will bark but then she settles down quickly. She likes to ride in the car and she does not chew anything that is not meant to be chewed. We are making great progress on the housebreaking thing. As long as the sliding glass door remains open, she will use the outdoor facilities. She hasn't yet figured out how to tell us that she "has to go". Princess sleeps on the bed at night with PeeWee (the World Famous Test Cat) curled up by her side. She completely ignores PeeWee (much to PeeWee's dismay!) < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Princess #3 |
Adopted! Princess, aka Tess, is a lovely light tan-and-black pure-bred German Shepherd. She is about 2 years old and weighs 75 pounds. Tess knows her basic commands and is very eager to learn, as she is so smart. She is house-trained, gets along with other dogs, and walks well on a leash. Tess does tend to be dominant with small children, so her forever home should have no small kids or cats. Tess is affectionate and wants to be part of an active family. She loves riding in the car and chasing balls. It is a sight to treasure to see this beautiful dog running across a field RinTinTin-style.This beautiful girl is not a couch potato and needs lots of exercise to stay happy. Come meet Tess soon at an adoption event. She is being fostered in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Princess #4 |
Adopted! Princess was someone's special girl once-upon-a-time. She was turned into the shelter when her family moved. Now she's in a VGSR foster home learning the house rules from her foster brothers and sister. They are teaching her chase, hide & seek, tug, keep-away and that all popular sport of wrestling. She is also good at playing by herself. Princess takes her ball chasing the most serious. Princess is house-, crate- and leash-trained. She has a very stong ball-drive, combined with her intense energy level, that make her a candidate for S&R. She is about 10 months old, and will weigh about 75 pounds as an adult. For now she still has some puppy traits, like mouthing and jumping up. She is quick to learn and very smart. Already she knows how to come and sit. Princess may been too excitable for small children but older kids will adore her. She is available for adoption at the end of March. Princess is being fostered in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Princess #6 |
Adopted! Why, hello! My name is Princess. I am a playful sweetheart who loves being around people, especially children.
I love nothing more than to snuggle, and I will give you all the kisses you want. I even have some training! I can sit,
stay, come when called, and I know not to jump on people even when I'm excited and want to play. I am royalty, after
all. When my foster mom tells me to go to bed, I get under my pillow and sleep with my stuffed animals! I am full of
energy and love to run, play, and I walk well on a leash. I even help my foster mom by taking my leash in my mouth
and walking myself. If you adopt me, I can help you with my walks, too! I am ready to placed in a fun, caring, loving
home with wonderful folks...doesn't that sound like you? If your castle needs a princess, you'll be the subject of my
lifelong love and devotion. I am being fostered in Maryland. EPMD

![]() Princess #8 |
Adopted! Since being rescued by VGSR, this small black-and-tan beauty is learning that the world is a wonderful place. Princess was neglected while in her previous home - we believe that she was kept crated most of the time and never allowed free access in the house. She didn't get enough food or attention and is significantly underweight. Now with appropriate diet and exercise, we hope she will gain about 10 - 15 pounds. Princess enjoys taking long walks with her foster parents and canine sister. Her foster mom and dad are working on her social skills - she's still very shy with strangers but is extremely curious about things around her. When she gets to know you, Princess is very affectionate and loving - licking her foster Mom's face and playing with her foster dad. She is relishing the attention she is getting. Princess is very active - clearly enjoying the freedom she now has. She has some basic obedience skills but needs additional training. Because her behavior is very puppy-like and she has a tendency to jump and be 'mouthy,' Princess will do best in an experienced home without small children. This very sweet girl is looking for a caring family she can call her own. Princess is fostered in Northern Virginia. KHVA Adopted: 04/30/06. ![]() Princess Diana |
Adopted! Party Time! I am nine months old, and ready for fun. I am good with children of all ages and OK with other dogs, too.
I keep hearing about these things called cats, but I have yet to meet one. To be honest, I need to learn my manners about
jumping up on people, but hey, I am VERY willing to learn and after all, I am just a pup. To meet me and get some kisses
in person, please send an email to contact@shepherdrescue.org.

![]() Prissy |
Adopted! This is tiny Prissy. She has beautiful delicate features and is full of curosity and play. One of Savanah's pups, she will be ready to go to her forever home in early June. |
![]() Pup-Pup |
Adopted! Pup-Pup came into the Rescue because a child brought the dog home unexpected of the parents and they did not want
to deal with a puppy, and turned her over to the humane society. She loves to play wth the other dogs and sometimes gets
her temper in a wad, but she's very sweet and loveable. She actually sleeps through most nights now without any accidents
or crying to go out. She will not potty in her crate, but the floor is the limit. She's very small, we think maybe a German
Shepherd/rottie mix. I don't anticipate her being a large dog, but you never know. Come and meet this jewel at one of our
adoption days. LTVA

![]() The Pup Quintet |
Adopted! These 5 little angels were found roaming loose recently with their mom and dad. Animal control rounded up the whole family and VGSR is taking applications for all seven. Puppies can only be adopted to homes where someone is available most of the day to care for a young dog. Dad is a very small black and tan pure-bred, about 1.5 years old. Mom is a bi-color pure-bred, about 1.5 years old. We estimate the puppies to be between 4-5 months old. There are 3 females and 2 males in the litter. As we have names, individual pictures and personalities we will update this information. All have friendly manners and seem well-socialized. The family is being fostered throughout the Metro Washington area and will be at adoption events starting 3/22/2003. Our dad is Pancho, a Shepherd mix, and our mom is Kila, a pure-bred German Shepherd. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Pyro |
Adopted! Pyro is a beautiful, 1-year-old, black & cream male. About 85 pounds already, he still has some growing to do. Pryo is house, crate and leash trained. He is a very good boy in the house and loves to ride in the car. Pyro is happy to romp with other dogs. His former family claims he is good with cats and kids. He loves to chase the ball endlessly. He is generous with kisses and loves everyone he meets. Pyro needs a family to love him. |
![]() Queenie |
Adopted! Queenie is much cuter in person than her picture portrays. She is a 6-month-old puppy, and every bit of it, too. She
adores Carolena, the "test kid", and will attach herself almost immediately to anyone who pets her and says hello for more
than 1 minute. Queenie is just now learning how to play with other dogs and is getting along fine with my female German
Shepherd and the male cocker spaniel. She is very bright, eager to learn, but yet can be a bit stubborn if she doesn't want
to do something. She is a bit "barky" right now, but we are working on it. She is about 90% house-trained. She is being
fostered in Northern Virginia, and is way too cute to be available for long, so don't wait to meet her. GSVA < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
Queenie #2 |
Adopted! Meet Queenie! She's only been in the rescue for 3 days and she's already adjusting to her new life. She and her brother,
Rex, came to the rescue shy with people and unsure of what life inside a house was - they had been living their lives in an
outside pen. Queenie is more outgoing than her brother and she learns quickly. She already knows “sit”, “come”, “off”, and
“back”. She likes to run around and play with her brother and our resident male GSD. She likes to give kisses and loves to
play with her ball. Watch this space for updates on Queenie. Obedience training is a must for all puppies to help not only with
learning commands, but for socialization and bonding with their new doggy parents. AAVA

![]() Quera |
Adopted! A Military Working Dog, Quera worked as an explosive detection dog for 6 years at Andrews Air Force Base in
Maryland. She performed searches in support of the President, the Vice President, the First Lady, and countless
foreign and domestic distinguished visitors. She just recently traveled to Rome, Italy when the President went there
to meet with the Pope. Quera was retired at the age of 11 and diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease. She is an
absolute love. She gets a little grabby about treats and so should not be in a home with small children. She also is not
good with cats. Her whole life, she has been encouraged to chase anything like that. She is alright with bigger dogs, but
not necessarily with smaller dogs. I love "Q" and enjoyed working her as her handler. I am being sent to Italy for
three years and cannot take Q with me. I had hoped that she would get better about the cats, but she hasn't. It's just
not fair expecting her to live in a crate for 14+ hours a day while I am at work every day. She is a wonderful dog who
deserves better than this.

![]() Quincy |
Adopted! Sometimes we rescue a dog that may need some extra help. Quincy is one of those dogs. He was turned in to the animal shelter by someone that may not have been honest about his history. Quincy was very sick, because he has the pancreatic insufficiency known to some German Shepherd dogs. Now he is on his meds and is doing great. Without exception, everyone is madly in love with Quincy. He was almost 35 pounds underweight when we found him. Despite this, and the pain he must have felt, he was sweet to everyone. Quincy tolerated every kind of poking and prodding by the vet with a smile and a tail-wag. He has been the best-behaved, gentlest dog we have had the pleasure of helping. Handsome Quincy is less than 3 years old and is a stunning boy. Black-and-tan, he has soft brown eyes that will steal your heart. He should weigh about 85 pounds. A gentle boy, Quincy loves all people and animals, it seems. Sweet Quincy will need a permanent home that can commit to keeping him healthy. He only needs a powder that must be sprinkled on his food, prior to feeding. If you can offer this to Quincy, in return, you will have a loyal, loving companion. Quincy is in Northern Virginia. If you would like to make a donation to VGSR, to help us help Quincy, please mail a check to the VGSR PO Box. Your help will be very much appreciated by Quincy. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
Quincy #2 Pictures coming soon... |
Adopted! Hi! I am new to VGSR so I don't have a picture up yet. I am told I am a very beautiful dog by all who meet
me. I am all black with a few white spots on my tummy and paws. My dad got deployed to Iraq so he had to give
me up. I was in a shelter for a few weeks and was very lonely. The shelter staff said I was one of the sweetest dogs
they have ever met. My foster parents confirmed this and want you to know that I love to play ball, am extremely
affectionate and aim to please. The doctor says I am around 8 months old. I am a huge snuggler and love giving
kisses. I also am not much of a barker but more of an observer. I out grew chewing things that are not mine and am
happy with my toys and treats...baths are actually fun for me and I am house-trained. I am a quick study and have
been learning new tricks and am a very quick learner. I get along well with other dogs. I prefer bed snuggling but
am just as happy at being in the room with my owner. I just want to make you happy. If you would live to meet me
please email my foster parents at houry1@yahoo.com.

![]() Radar |
Adopted! Radar and October are sister and brother, and have always lived together. They were 1 year old in October last year. They appear to be housebroken. We would like them to go to their forever home together. Both are super friendly, however she is somewhat guarded and definitely is the alpha of the pair. It's been reported that they do not like cats, but we're not sure yet. They both like to play fetch, and are both hungry for attention. They both need manners, but seem willing to please. I'd say they are o.k. with other dogs, and she is supposedly spayed. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Radar #2 |
Adopted! This beautiful black German Shepherd is as sweet as they come. He is very calm in the house and loves to lounge anywhere
it is soft. But when he gets outside he will run and run and run! He runs rings around his three foster brothers!! He also gets
along great with my two young boys. And if there is a tennis ball around, he will claim it. And though he is estimated to be about
5 months old, he is crate-trained and house-trained. He makes it very clear to you when he needs to go out by barking at the back
door. Just an all around real sweetie pie. MJDVA

![]() Rajha |
Adopted! Rajha is a shy, sweet little GSD about 8 months old. She is very sweet with adults and children but a little shy with
other dogs. Rajha loves to play ball so you must have a good throwing arm to keep this little lady happy. Our laid back
Golden is her favorite foster buddy right now. She'd rather hide behind us when the big dogs are out. Rajha is crate-trained,
learning to sit, down and walks very well on a leash. She has a brand new world to learn about and all the love and
devotion of a growing pup. She is being fostered in Virginia Beach. DBTVA Tag #944

![]() Randy |
Adopted! Randy is just a youngster. At 8 months and 70 pounds, he still has a lot of growing and maturing to do. He was rescued from a shelter. Randy had been turned in for chewing up the TV remote. Randy is a European-style German Shepherd, with a bushy, dark outer coat and a lovely silver undercoat. He is house- and leash-trained, and eager to learn. Randy wants to please everyone and only needs some praise and positive reinforcement to help his confidence. He is sweet and friendly; a little shy when he first meets you. Randy loves to play with other dogs and has lived with children. Randy is being fostered in Northern Virginia. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Randy #2 |
Adopted! Randy is an adult, neutered, male German Sheperd mix, maybe 4-5 years old. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs, both male and female. Randy came into a county animal shelter after being hit by a car. The shelter staff fell in love with him and kept him for over two months in the hope that an owner would come to claim this handsome and well-mannered dog. Randy had obviously been well cared for and loved, he had already been neutered and was well fed. He is crate-trained and loves to sleep in his extra large crate at night. Randy suffered a fractured pelvis in the car accident and he now walks with a bit of a limp. He gets around without difficulty however, and the vet said that he doesn't seem to be in any pain. He won't be a runner, but you also don't need to worry about him jumping a fence. He's up-to-date on shots, of course, and is heartworm negative and on monthly preventative. Randy will make a devoted and loving addition to any home lucky enough to have him. Randy is being fostered in central Virginia, but will make occasional trips to VGSR outings on Sundays. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Randy #3 |
Adopted! Randy's was a sad story. He came to us with all sorts of ailments: heartworms, open sores between his toes,
mange, fly bites on his ears, and he was thin as a rail. But just after a few days of lots of food and lots of love he is
now a sweet, happy boy who wags his tail more than any other GSD I've known! He knows 'sit' and is working on
'stay', and he's just learned how to play ball & chase. He loves his 8-year-old Shepherd foster sister Annie, gets
along great with female dogs, loves people and is good with kids. He listens well - even off leash - especially when
he's called over for a belly rub! < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Ranger |
Adopted! Ranger is a black-and-tan, 9-month-old, super-sweet, male GSD. He loves to play with other dogs and is a very happy-go-lucky boy. But he hates people screaming or raising their voices; it scares him, so a quiet home would be best for him. One that can give him all the love he has probably never gotten. He doesn't trust strangers right away but it only takes him a few smells to be your best friend. He is very good in the crate and does not complain at all when you put him in. He is a delight to have around. He even stayed very still in the bath tub while I was giving him a bath. He was a good boy. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Ranger #2 |
Adopted! Rin Tin Tin - Eat your heart out! Extremely handsome, out-going, confident, super-friendly, affectionate and
athletic, too - who could ask for more in a dog? Ranger is a stunning black-and-tan, pure-bred GSD who won't be
available for long. He loves to give kisses, rides well in the car, appears to be house-trained, and is just an all-around
nice dog. Ranger is the standard for our beloved breed. Right now he needs to gain a couple of pounds, but after he
does, he will be breathtaking. SLVA
< -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Ranger #3 |
Adopted! Ranger is a very sweet, social 10-month-old GSD mix who loves to play. Given any opportunity, he will chase his toys
(preferably squeaky fleece or balls) and either bring them back to be re-thrown or, if a human isn't around, will entertain
himself (and anyone watching him play). He's a scamp who plays hard and then sleeps soundly. We think that Ranger was
injured as a puppy and his leg didn't heal properly - so his left hind leg is shorter than the others. This doesn't slow him down
at all. Ranger is very fast and agile. He has a great time, running around, under or into his much larger canine foster sister.
Known to be a little bit of an escape artist, Ranger needs basic obedience training. Ranger does well if the rules of the house
are clearly explained to him. He is very receptive to training, learns quickly and really wants to please his humans. He is very
friendly, loves kids and other dogs but has not had much exposure to cats. Ranger is an alert, loving boy who is patiently
waiting for his forever family. Is it yours? KHVA

![]() Ranger #4 |
Adopted! Are you ready for some puppy love? My foster family says I am a perfect little guy. I'm getting a lot of love and attention
and in return, I've been on my best behavior. My foster mom is amazed at how quickly I learn. I know to sit by the door if I
want to go outside. Sometimes, though, I don't need to go potty; I just want to go outside and play! I love to chase bugs, find
sticks and look around for anything else I can find (and hopefully eat/chew). I keep my humans on their toes! I'm having a
great time. I love stealing my foster GSD sister's toys. None of those little puppy toys for me! She's very good-natured and we
are playing together more and more every day. Every day is a new adventure. While I'm not thrilled about being put in a crate,
I'm learning that it's just for short periods of time. Since I am so young, my adoptive home must be willing and able to handle the
needs of a young dog and also committed to meet the needs of the adult dog I will become. I am looking for a family who enjoys
playing and can give me the love and attention he deserves. I am being fostered in Northern Virginia, KHVA.

![]() Rashia |
Adopted! Rashia, who is known as Sasha at present, is a beautiful 2-year-old, 62-lb. GSD with lovely conformation, a
delicate head, and big dreamy brown eyes with long eyelashes. This little girl craves affection and loves being petted
(belly rubs are a special favorite), and she bonds very strongly to her family. Sasha's temperament is on the "soft" side,
which means she needs someone who is nurturing and loving to help build her confidence in a variety of situations. She
is extremely bright and would do very well with someone who is interested in teaching her various canine activities
(e.g., obedience, tracking, agility, etc.). Along these lines, Sasha recently graduated from a 9-week basic obedience class
and is doing very well with Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Let's Go, and other exercises, and a few weeks ago, she earned her
AKC "Canine Good Citizen" title. This gentle girl is very athletic and loves to go on long hikes and runs in the woods, and
she must be part fish because she absolutely adores swimming. She also enjoys wrestling with her canine foster brothers
and being groomed by the resident cats. If you are a nurturing, loving, outdoorsy person who can take this sweet dog on
lots of adventures in the wide world, Sasha may be the one for you! WMMD < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Raven #2 |
Adopted! Raven is very handsome with his solid black coat, white star on his chest, and a little white on the tips of his rear toes. He
looks like he's wearing his best suit out to a special event. He's a very intelligent, quick learner who wants to please. He's had a
rather unsettled life and is in search of a forever home where someone would spend a lot of time with him. He would like
someone who would be patient, gentle, firm, and consistent to teach him the finer points of being a gentleman. He needs
someone he can look to for guidance when he is not sure what to do. Raven has a lot of energy and likes to run and play with other
dogs, but will never want to be far from his special human(s). He loves to ride in the car and will sit so he can rest his chin on the
top of the window and take in the all the smells of the passing scenery. Raven is a good boy with a big heart and a lot of love to give.
Would you be his special new forever home? KBJVA

Adopted! Raven is an EXCEPTIONAL little girl. She was dumped off at the Anne Arundel Shelter with her brother because her
breeder couldn't sell them, but I can't imagine why. I've only had her for 2 hours and already I can see that she's smart,
happy, alert, playful, sweet, and gets along well with other dogs and people! She also has a beautiful gait so it's a pleasure
just to see her trot around. I'll update her bio as I get to know her more. Raven is one of the best I've seen! Please come see
her Sunday, April 9th, at the PetCo in Warrenton, VA, from 11 am to 3 pm. KBVA

![]() Reba |
Adopted! Sweet Reba was pulled out of a shelter just recently. She's enjoying her temporary "digs", but would probably like to share her owners attention with a few less animals. Although she isn't really a dominant dog, she doesn't want to be dominated either, so she needs to be an only pet or placed with a laid back male or female dog. She hasn't even been spiteful to the "alpha bitch" here, but knows how to get her point across without being nasty. She seems just fine with kitties so far, although her exposure to them has been fairly limited. We estimate her age to be 2-3 years old, and has a lot of spunk. She is not a bad dog, but could use an obedience class or two. She gets very excited very easily. She is terribly skinny right now, but we're working on it. She's a petite little girl, but will probably not weigh more than 65 lbs. when she reaches her ideal weight. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |

Adopted! Hi! My name is Red. I am a big, beautiful, 90 lb., plush, black-and-red German Shepherd. I am very smart and
I love my foster humans. My mom says that I make her smile everyday, even when she has had a bad day. I like my
foster brothers and sisters (dogs and humans). I play well with other dogs and kids. I am 7 years young and I still
love to be outside and play some. I am relearning how to play with toys inside, too. I was a stray when VGSR rescued
me from the shelter. No one came looking for me. So, now, I am looking for my forever home and forever humans. I
have lots of love and kisses waiting for my family. DGVA

![]() Red #2 |
Adopted! Red is a shy, timid, young GSD that was dumped at the shelter by his breeder who was moving and could
not take Red with him. Red is a neutered male, approximately 14/15 months old. We were told by the shelter
that he lived with a man only, which could explain why he bonded immediately with his foster dad, and is very
unsure of everyone else. We are working with him on socialization and making progress. He gets along well
and is more confident around other dogs. He does just fine with cats. Red is house-trained, crate-trained, and
up-to-date on all his shots. Red will benefit obedience classes. RED IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!!

![]() Reese Cup |
Adopted! Hi - my name is Reese Cup, and I am every bit just as sweet as my name! I am spayed female GSD who is 2 1/2 years
old and completely up-to-date on all of my shots. I love to play with other dogs at the dog park, but I do have a weird little
habit of trying to chew on the ears of labs at the park. I just can't help myself - they are so soft! Anyway, I am a very good
girl in the house and do not need to be in a crate. I am house-trained, and I only chew on my dog toys. Car rides are one of
my favorite activities. I also go hiking and swimming down at the river with John and we have a really good time! My
resume includes sit, speak, shake, down and come. I love to curl up around your feet while you sit at your computer, too!
My foster mom says that I need a cat free zone since I REALLY like to chase cats! SLVA

![]() Reina |
Adopted! Hi everyone, my name is Reina and I'm a four year old, black AKC-registered female GSD. I spent some time recently at the vet's office getting spayed, receiving all my shots and putting on a few much needed pounds. Boy, I loved that part as well as getting loads of attention from all the people in the office! I am totally house-trained and get along great with all other animals (including a goat who was also boarding at the vet's office), and children. At first I am a bit hesitant of new situations and new people, but if you give me a little time to warm up, before you know it, I'm giving everyone kisses. I have some basic obedience, I am progressing on my crate-training and most importantly, I am VERY well behaved. In fact, I'm currently being fostered in the Central Shenandoah Valley with three other GSDs, and my foster mom is ready to give me "The Perfect Girl" award. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |

Adopted! Hi..My name is Remington. I am a very royal doggie. Ha Ha. Most folks call me Remi. I love life. I love playing
with my foster brothers in the yard. I really love my humans. I am hoping to get a human of my own soon. I am 5-6

![]() Renee |
Adopted! Renee is approximately 2 to 3 years old, mostly black with tan legs and some of the biggest, brownest, eyes you'd ever want to see. While somewhat shy at first she does warm up to humans almost immediately. Gets along OK with other dogs, although so far she has not wanted to play with my 3 year old female GSD. Was fine with Carolena the "dog-testing Kid" and couldn't give her enough kisses. First 24 hours appear that she IS housebroken. Not cat tested as yet. All in all, she appears to be a very good girl who has nothing but love in her heart and kisses to give to you if you'll make her yours! < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Reno #2 |
Adopted! Reno has so much to tell us with his soulful eyes. He is a 2-year-old, gorgeous (okay - handsome) red-and-black, pure-bred,
tattooed male GSD. His family took him to the SPCA due to a divorce. Poor Reno also lost the family that he loved and rapidly
shed weight while kenneled, then was diagnosed with Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. Now that Reno is taking enzymes so
his body can digest and absorb nutrients, he went from 60 lbs to 95 healthy pounds in a matter of weeks. Reno will need enzymes
with his meals for life now which cost 57 cents per day. (We pay much more than that for a bottle of water.) Reno loves affection
and like most GSDs, wants to be your Velcro pal. He just cuddles up, kisses sometimes or lays his head in your lap - always close
enough to touch. Squeaky toys and balls of any size just thrill him while playing. He is amazing as he immediately sits, lies down
and stays with hand commands and we suspect he may know some German commands. Very intelligent, great focus and activity.
He really enjoys people young and old. Always good meeting friends, neighbors and children. An experienced GSD owner is a must.
Ideal family must love to play ball daily, must enjoy continuous companionship (he always has me in sight), enjoy water play,
provide squeaky and stuffed toys plus consider agility, obedience trials, SAR, hiking, running or other activities to fulfill this highly
intelligent, devoted, talented boy's drive. You can contact Reno's foster parents at

![]() Reuben |
Adopted! Reuben is a 5 year old, pure-bred male German Shepherd that should weigh in around 90 lbs. He is a sweet, gentle boy with a big heart to match his big size and tries very hard to always be on his best behavior. He knows how to sit and is housebroken and would make a good hiking buddy for someone who is looking for a companion to join them. He would also love to curl up at the foot of your bed all day long too! If you have been waiting to find a German Shepherd, Reuben may be the perfect match for you. |
![]() Rex |
Adopted! Rex is a stunning, black and very red male. At 4 years and 90 pounds, he is gentle and playful like a puppy. Rex loves to play with other dogs, stuffed toys and children of all ages. Rex is looking for a forever home where he can be part of the family. < -- (click on this picture to view larger images) |
![]() Rex #4 |
Adopted! Hi, my name is Rex. If I must say so myself, I am one good looking fellow. I am 5 years old and a very well-mannered boy. I know the commands sit, down, shake, stay and load. I will also try very hard to figure out anything else that you ask me to do. My favorite activities are riding in the car, catching balls and wrestling with Hoppy. I am probably a just a little TOO interested in the cats, so to keep everyone happy I should probably live in a feline free zone. I am a very outgoing and friendly guy to all I meet. I am an extreme head cocker too - I tip my whole head sideways when something catches my ear. I have a huge bark when someone knocks at the door so I will make you feel very safe in your home. |
![]() Rex #5 |
Adopted! Rex is a handsome young male, about 2 years old. He is crate-trained, and probably house-trained. He gets along
well with all the other dogs in his foster home, and has even met the dog-savvy cats, and pays them no mind. He's
fairly quiet in the house (for a two-year-old). His foster mom says "If I didn't already have four dogs, he'd be a keeper!"
We have absolutely nothing bad to say about this handsome boy. He'll be snapped up quick, so inquire about him soon!

Adopted! Hi, my name is Rex! I'm an energetic and friendly pup, and the most handsome boy on the block. Unfortunately, my

fun I'm having in my new Foster Home though!! Just this morning, I taught the other dog here how to move those pesky living
room couches around so we could have more room to play. My Foster Mom sure thought our redecorating idea was funny! I'm
scheduled to be neutered on Tuesday, and I gotta admit, I'm not very excited about that. My foster mom says it will help me be
a little friendlier with some of the other dogs at the park. I'm in great health, and just need to gain a bit of weight because all my
puppy energy has kept my physique too trim. Not only am I gorgeous, but I am a smart boy too (although I do need a little work
on my basic manners and commands). My first day in my new foster home, I learned how to unlock the storm door and open the
latch. I didn't want to bug anyone to take me for a walk, so I took myself! I guess they didn't like that idea because since then,
the big door is kept closed. Little do they know, I've been practicing turning the knob around-and-around with my big nose. I've
also learned to open the mail slot which I think is so much fun. It won't be long until I will have this whole door thing completely
figured out! They keep telling me I "need a J-O-B" and that my Forever Home will need to teach me obedience or enroll me in
classes and make sure I have some activity or work to do. I'm too smart (and did I mention good-looking?) to just lie around the
house all day and eat bon-bons and watch TV. Oh, and another thing - I'm very good on a leash! So... the bottom line is, I'm the
nicest and most handsome dog in the world. I can tolerate even the brattiest children, but would probably be a little too unruly
for a house with small children. I need something to do, and would prefer to stick right with you. I get a bit upset when left alone
(you better not call me a big baby though!). I can't wait to meet my new family and give them all the love in the world!
