10/2/14   She certainly has come along way! She came to me with a severe ear infection as soon that was addressed she started feeling better and coming out of her shell. She did have  several teeth removed as her teeth were terrible! it turns out she was/is spayed. After all this dog has gone through she still has the sweetest disposition ever. I have discovered she sometimes has night time urinary incontinence.I have never known a dog to sleep as soundly as she does! She has been put on medication for this and it has not happened again. The medication costs aprox $20 a month. I hope someone will give this girl a good retirement life. She loves walks and car rides! She is nice to all other animals even after my alpha female was mean to her, she didn't let it faze her at all! She is a slow poke; I nick-named her Putzerella. She putzs around every morning! She only hurries to get in  the car! She should be medicaly cleared to be adopted by next week! Give this sweet pea a chance, she deserves it.

8/27/14 This old girl was found running loose on the Blue Ridge Parkway, starving, matted and tangled and covered in fleas. A good samaritan took her in and tried to find an owner. No owner was found and the people who took her in were unable to get the veterinary help she needed and were told by the landlord to get rid of her. They contacted VGSR and she is now in the process of getting cleaned up and healthy. She is Lyme positive and has a lot of raw places on her skin from the fleas. Her hair had to be mostly shaved off to get rid of the fleas and mats. She is enjoying regular meals now and quite content in her new circumstances.

Her new name is Faith. She is housebroken, calm and quiet and she gets along with all dogs, adults, children and toddlers and cats. She wags her short scrawny tail when she sees you. She is a little hard of hearing, but it hasn't been determined if it is by choice or a product of her age.
