3/07/18  Cover was returned to VGSR in late February.  He did not interact and play well with his new adopter's female GSD. His new owners had hoped he would be a good playmate for their existing dog.   Cover is a very loving guy and interacts well with my fosters and my 2 GSD's. He is up to date all his shots and has been neutered and microchipped.

11/04/17   Cover begins his Heart Worm treatment on 11/6. He will have two more vet trips after that before he is HW free.

10/8/17   Cover is scheduled to be neutered this coming week. His first Heart Worm treatment will follow the neutering in two weeks.

9/24/17  Cover is a pure bred GSD boy. He is not available for adoption at this time because he needs to be neutered and he is positive for Heart Worms.

Cover was an owner surrender due to the death of one of his caretakers. He lived with two other GSD's at his prior home. One of his former roommates was Midnight. I believe she has already been adopted from VGSR. I feel Cover is a bit underweight at this point. He has gained 3 pounds since I've been fostering him. I feel his ideal weight would be 70 lbs.
Cover is great in the house. He is not destructive and has never had an accident in the house since I've been fostering him. He takes his treats very gently and likes to have his belly rubbed after meals. He is doing a lot better on his leash training but still needs s little time to be fully leash trained. He is not s puller while on leash. He is warming up to his 2 foster brothers and my 2 GSD's as well.
At this point he has not shown a lot of interest in play toys, balls or pull toys. In the next few weeks I will be introducing him to play toys to get his reaction to them. He is still coming out of his shell after being uprooted from the only home he knew for the first 5 years of his life. He is very loving with me and I believe that in the near future he will be an outstanding GSD.
